Your Life Is Hard Compared To What?

I’m the first to admit, that I’m far from perfect. There are lots of areas in my life that I’m not happy with, yet. And sure, I complain now and then, but I’m careful only to vent, and not to assume the victim’s role.

I do it to let the pressure go, and never to attract sympathy from others.

But regardless of the struggle I’m going through, you will NEVER hear me say the words, “I can’t”. That phrase doesn’t exist in my personal glossary of terms.

Ogres Are Like Onions!

My daughter Hannah is 3 years old. One of her favorite movies is Shrek. She’s watched it so many times that she can recite parts of the movie as it happens. Needless to say, I’ve been subjected to it a few times.

As I was spending some time with her this past weekend, she decided she wanted to watch a show with Daddy. So we went over to the movie cabinet and opened the door and she began sorting through stacks of movies to find one she felt like watching. She chose Shrek. I questioned her to make sure she didn’t want to watch one of the other movies she has in her collection, but she was sure. So Shrek it was.

The Longest Roller-Coaster Ever

Life is not always butterflies and rainbows. Life resembles more of a rollercoaster. There are times when things are moving quickly, you’re screaming down the track, whizzing around corners and bends, and holding on for dear life. Other times it seems like you’re just crawling along, pushing constantly to climb up to the next plateau.  The peaks are steep and the valleys are deep.

When you’re on that peak, it’s really easy to keep a positive attitude. Things are going your way. You don’t encounter any hurdles or obstacles. But when you’re in that valley, it can be very exhausting. It becomes very hard to remain positive and focused and motivated. You seem to encounter hurdle after hurdle and obstacle after obstacle.
